The Seniors lifted the Down Intermediate Football title for the first time when they overcame a good Ballymartin side under lights on Saturday night in Newry.
Played in a constant downpour, the match had everyhting you would expect from a championship encounter, with great scores, brilliant tackles, bags of effort and loads of courage from both sides, but it was the sheer will to win of the Kilclief lads that was the deciding factor in this enthralling battle.
Ciaran Sloan's insurance point in the last minute of normal time was something to behold, a mighty effort from the right hand side under the stand. The roar that went up from the Green and Red clad supporters would not have been out of place in Croke Park !

A second half scoring surge that saw us outscore Banbridge by 7 points to 2 was the difference in the end after this thrilling clash in Newry on Saturday night.
The boys shook off the early loss of midfielder Rory Sharvin who left the field on a stretcher after falling badly at the throw in to claim a deserved win and book a place in the final where we will meet Ballymartin or Dundrum.
